YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Bethesda Chevy Chase Rotary are proud to bring back their popular 10k race to thousands of runners on Thanksgiving morning, Nov.
There are three different race lengths taking place on the day.40th Annual Turkey Chase Charity Race Returns In-Person! The Great Limerick Run had more than 14,000 participants registered in 2019 – so you’re guaranteed a brilliant, supportive atmosphere if you choose it as your challenge. The Achill Half Marathon won the Run Ireland’s Most Scenic Route award back in 2018 – so you’re in for a beautiful race. There’s a 10k and a 5k run taking place at the same time and the run is in aid of the secondary school on the island. Inis Oírr island is located off the coast of Galway. The half marathon takes place in the same location later in the year, so if you want to test the water you can before challenging yourself to something longer. The Tralee 10k Road Race is as it says – a road race around the town of Tralee.
It’s a running festival so there’s also a half marathon distance if you try the 10k and fancy a different challenge. Run Kilkee takes place in County Clare, with views of the dramatic and breathtaking loop head peninsula. The Wexford 10k is set over a fast course with plenty of downhill descents – so perfect if you’re looking to achieve a personal best. The website says the climb is “satisfying” and takes in views of Howth Hill. The Gaelforce 10k Howth Summit is a course of varied terrain, taking runners from Howth Castle. You’ll be running alongside more than 2,000 participants and finishing in the courtyard area of Wicklow’s Gaol.
The Wicklow Gaol Break 10k is a beautiful scenic run about 40 minutes from Dublin. It takes in views of the beautiful scenery along the way. The Dublin Mountain 10k is a trail run hosted by the Dublin Mountain Running Club, taking place in the Glencullen mountains.
